It’s a new episode of the Bristol Beats Club comedy podcast. Listen now!

Once upon a time, old-fashioned men could hunt for food, build shelter and defend their young from bloodthirsty predators.

Today, though, modern man does little more than sit in an office, shun exercise and produce comedy podcasts in a tragic excuse for an existence. And that got us thinking… aren’t modern men bad at life?

We became so fascinated with the subject, in fact, that we made it – manfails, that is – the theme of this week’s podcast. Get stuck in now; it will improve your life.

Those who choose to listen will be rewarded with patented Bristol Beats Club feature Festival Focus; they’ll find out whether or not they should consider going along to Truck festival this Summer; they’ll find out who Pamela Anderson really had sex on that boat with; and they’ll hear from Sam and Joe, whose DIY disasters make them certified manfailures through and through.

Of course, our idle chit-chat is interspersed with cutting edge and classic indie, electro and indietronica. Songs have been removed in their entirety for legal reasons but featured this week were:

  • Arctic Monkeys – R U Mine
  • OK Go – The Writing’s On The Wall
  • Kid Astray – Still Chasing Nothing
  • Everything Everything – Distant Past
  • Blossoms – Cut Me And I’ll Bleed
  • The Naked And Famous – Hearts Like Ours
  • Swiss Lips – Books
  • The Wombats – Give Me A Try
  • Two Door Cinema Club – Undercover Martyn
  • Modest Mouse – Lampshades On Fire

Have a listen now, we love having every single one of you involved. Oh, and before we go – we’ll be talking about being left in the lurch next week, so send us your related anecdotes via email. Ever been stood up by a blind date? Left hanging by a family member? Email your related tales through to info@bristolbeatsclub.com. Then, pretty please, subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.
