It’s a new episode of the Bristol Beats Club comedy podcast. Listen now!

Anyone else been following the Marvin Gaye travesty lately? Old Marv, it would seem, has been royally shafted. And we know how he feels.

Actually that’s not entirely true. We’d be lying if we said we’d ever been dead. But, given that we were recently shafted by an unnamed internet service provider for the grand sum of £13, we felt we could relate. So we decided to make getting ripped off the focal point of this week’s podcast.

Listen away now and you’ll be able to laugh at others less fortunate than yourself, such as Andy, who bought a jumper he couldn’t wash, and Ryan from the Rupees, who can never really tell if he’s been paid after a gig.

Speaking of the Rupees, they’re live guests on this week’s podcast. They pop by to talk about their new EP, their new single Extravanganza and the joys of using nipple tassels when shooting music videos.

When they’re done with that, they take on a game of Desert Island Dicks… in which they decide they prefer serial killer Rose West to serial buffoon Axl Rose. Listen away now. It’s a right treat.

As always, our idle chit-chat is interspersed with cutting edge and classic indie and electro music (and rock n roll this week, given that we had the Rupees in). Tracks have been removed in their entirety for legal reasons but featured this week were:

  • Cash + David – Bones
  • Crystal Castles (ft Robert Smith) – Not In Love
  • Cloudfest – Dexters
  • Extravaganza – The Rupees
  • Fickle Friends – Swim
  • The Fauns – 4am
  • Amber Run – Pilot
  • Circa Waves – Fossils
  • Bloc Party – Flux

Have a listen now. You know, if you’re not up to much. Finally – we’ll be talking about the failings of modern man next week, so send us your related anecdotes and get yourself featured on the show! DIY failure? Unable to throw a rugby ball? Email your man fails through to info@bristolbeatsclub.com.
