An Independent Sziget Festival Review on the Bristol Beats Club comedy podcast. Listen now!

The Bristol Beats Club are on holiday!

Yes, Beats Clubbers, by the time you read this, we’ll be sunning ourselves in Montenegro, drinking cold beer on the beach and turning the Montenegrin people onto the fine sounds of indie, electro and indietronica.

But of course, we don’t want to leave you hanging (…again). So we’ve prepared this very special podcast for you (here it is in iTunes). And, seeing as we’re currently in the east, we thought it would be appropriate to offer you up our very own Sziget Festival review.

Struggling to connect the dots there? Well, Sziget is based in Hungary, and Hungary is (a little bit) near Montenegro, and Montenegro is where we are – so it all makes perfect sense. But that’s all by the by.

What really matters is that when you tune into the above podcast we’ll give you a complete lowdown on what you can expect from Sziget Festival – everything from the line up to the after hours entertainment and, ultimately, whether or not we believe it’s worth the asking price.

As an added bonus, you’ll be treated to more than one conversation on the topic of ‘wardrobe malfunctions’ when you tune in – the theme of this week’s podcast. Be warned: Janet Jackson is discussed in some detail. And now you have that image in your head.

As always, our idle chit-chat is interspersed with cutting edge and classic indie and electro. Tracks have been removed in their entirity but featured this week were:

  • B Miles – Nine Matches
  • The Vaccines – Handsome
  • Modest Mouse – Lampshades on Fire
  • The Wombats – Give Me a Try
  • The Jacques – Weekends
  • Arctic Monkeys – R U Mine?
  • OK Go – The Writing’s on the Wall
  • Kid Astray – Still Chasing Nothing
